People may not necessarily be afraid, but they may have circumstances that keep them from receiving help.  Money is one thing.  Counseling can get expensive.  Sometimes all people need is someone to listen...  Someone to acknowledge their existence and their accomplishments.  People also do not want others to think less of them.  It is crazy how people will change their beliefs, thoughts, or appearance just to be accepted by other people.  Just be you.  Do not disguise yourself because one day you will be caught and the consequence of that would be worse than you being yourself.

I think people are afraid of getting help because they have to give out information about themselves and are afraid of showing weakness and being judged. I have this problem myself. I currently have been going through alot of things myself and I know that I need help but I have noone to talk to and the ones I do have i'm embaressed to tell the things that i've been going through because of the fear I have of being judged.

People are always going to judge you no matter what the situation may be. People do not want other people to perceive them as "bad", or "weird", or "dumb". Because of the importance of others opinions people fail to help themselves. Why do human beings feel that impressing people is a top priority? People need to stop and think of what is best for themselves. There are people who witness a murder and go to jail for life because they do not want to testify against the murderer. They cannot break the "street code". They have to stay quiet or they could be killed. However, doing your entire life in prison is just a notch away from death. You certainly aren't "living" while imprisoned for life. Why not walk free and take your chances? Either outcome seems to be bogus, so why not choose the option that will help you out personally? Probably because you do not want the streets to say you are a "snitch". I created this blog for people like you. You have no one to talk to. I am like an interacting journal. I am always available to give advice. Feel free to post your thoughts anytime.
